THE FLOOD (MABUL)
Intellectually gifted, but physically undeveloped, Yoni is a bullied 13-year old student. His parents communicate with each other through him, if at all. A week before his Bar Mitzvah, his autistic brother, Tomer, 17, returns home. As family pressures mount and past secrets emerge, Yoni’s Torah portion—relating the story of Noah and the flood—comes to take on multiple meanings, not only in the two brothers’ lives but for the whole family and their extended community.
