Last spring GHC announced the debut of GHC Reads…Together program, a common reading program. This fall’s book is Jerusalem Beach, an award winning debut collection of short stories by Iddo Gefen. Gefen was born in Tel Aviv in 1992 and currently resides in New York City, where he is enrolled in a PhD program in cognitive psychology at Columbia University and the Zukerman Institute for Neuroscience. His research focuses on the relationship between narrative understanding, human memory and decision-making. His first novel will be published, in Hebrew, in 2024. Iddo Gefen is the winner of the 2023 Sami Rohr Prize for fiction.
Iddo Gefen will read from his book, discuss the stories and writing process and will answer questions from the audience. He may even read a short excerpt from his upcoming novel, Mrs. Lillienblum’s Cloud Factory (in English). This event is perfect for teens and adults alike.
