Event Type

While our hearts are heavy from Hamas’ brutal terrorist attack on the Jewish state, our resolve is as strong as ever. Israel will never stand alone as long as we stand alongside her. With this important program, our sincere hope is that you will find strength and comfort in your communities during this excruciating time.

Join AJC Westchester/Fairfield and Iona Jewish-Catholic Studies for the launch of an exciting new Shared Roots Divergent Paths four-part series leading up for the 60th anniversary of the Vatican II document, Nostra Aetate: Declaration on the Relation of the Church to Non-Christian Religions.

Nostra Aetate revolutionized the Church’s relationship to Jews and Judaism, decried antisemitism, and rejected the accusation that the Jews killed Jesus.

Our first program will feature the screening of the brief documentary “A New Future: Building Shalom between Catholics and Jews,” followed by a post-screening discussion with our featured speakers
Dr. Celia Deutsch and Benjamin Kamine.

Participants will learn about the dynamics of interfaith dialogue and the different perspectives Christians and Jews bring to the conversation.
