DESCRIPTION:Women’s Initiative for Jewish Studies (WIJS) at Young Israel 
 of New Rochelle is proud to present Dr. Lynn Kaye on Wednesday\, February 
 19\, 2025 @ 8:15 pm (ET) on Zoom.  Kaye will be the sixth speaker of the 
 2024-2025 season in the monthly scholarly programming offered by WIJS at Y
 INR.\n\nDr. Kaye’s lecture is entitled\, “Dream Healing in the Talmud.
 ”  Bad dreams shake people. The Babylonian Talmud describes several pro
 cedures that dreamers can take\, without an expert dream interpreter\, to 
 heal. As part of this presentation\, we will learn from the tractate Berac
 hot in the Talmud Bavli.\n\nDr. Lynn Kaye is Associate Professor of Rabbin
 ic Literature and Thought at Brandeis University. She is the author of “
 Time in the Babylonian Talmud” (Cambridge University Press\, 2018) and c
 o-editor of “Time: A Multidisciplinary Introduction” (Walter de Gruyte
 r\, 2023). She is also the writer of numerous articles on Jewish law and t
 hought\, and biblical and rabbinic studies. She is the recipient of a fell
 owship from the National Endowment for the Humanities for her current book
