Mishna: The Building Blocks of Jewish Life with Rabbi Blake (via Zoom)

Event Type

Our inquiry will take us into a detailed analysis of the most important and influential book of Rabbinic Literature, the Mishna (“Teaching”), which itself becomes the cornerstone of the Talmud. The Mishna was compiled in the early-mid 3rd Century (CE) and reflects generations of Rabbinic teaching. Its overarching aim is to organize Jewish Life into logical categories. It provides the framework for everything we presently do as Jews: how we organize time and calendar observances; how we pray; how we eat; how we approach birth, death, marriage, and divorce; rules governing business and commerce; and a whole lot more.
