Does God have a gender? Most translations of the Torah refer to God with he/him pronouns. Yet there is also a long history in Jewish tradition of a feminine aspect of divinity, from Asherah to Shechinah to contemporary feminist re-imaginings of Hebrew blessings. We will learn about these different views of God’s gender, and consider our own conceptions of God and gender.
