DESCRIPTION:Join The Jewish Education Project for in-person training and 
 certification in Youth Mental Health First Aid (YMHFA)\, facilitated by Re

 h First Aid is a certification course through the National Council of Beha
 vioral Health that introduces participants to the unique risk factors and 
 warning signs of mental health challenges in adolescents\, builds understa
 nding of the importance of early intervention\, and teaches individuals ho
 w to help a tween/teen aged ages 12-18 in crisis or experiencing a mental 
 health challenge.\nThrough role-playing and simulations\, YMHFA demonstrat
 es how to assess a mental health crisis\, select intervention\, provide in
 itial help\, and connect young people to professional\, peer\, social\, an
 d self-help. The course teaches participants the risk factors and warning 
 signs of a variety of mental health challenges common among adolescents\, 
 including anxiety\, depression\, psychosis\, eating disorders\, ADHD\, dis
 ruptive behavior disorders\, and substance use disorders. Learn more about
  Youth Mental Health First Aid (YMHFA).\nThe Jewish Education Project pro
 vides Jewish framing\, considerations related to our Jewish communities\, 
 and usea adapted scenarios applicable to those working in Jewish Youth set
 tings.\nThe training on February 29 is for professionals (full time or par
 t time) with who work with young people ages 12-18 at Jewish institutions 
 on Long Island\, NYC\, or in Westchester County. $36 per participant. Lunc
 h is included.\nThis training includes 2 hours of asynchronous pre-work fo
 r each participant and 6 hours of Instructor Led Session in-person. Partic
 ipants must complete mandatory pre-work to the training at least five days
  prior to the training.\nAfter reaching 15 participants\, we will start a 
 waiting list for future participants.
