It is an enthralling detective story telling the daily life in the Third Reich. It provides a window into the lives of Hitler’s millions of nameless followers and how ordinary people enacted history’s most extraordinary atrocity.
Daniel Lee is a historian of World War II and a specialist in the history of Jews in France and North Africa during the Holocaust. He is a lecturer in Modern History at Queen Mary, University of London.
