An Illuminated Megillah

On Sunday, January 10, at 10:15 am, Greenburgh Hebrew Center of Dobbs Ferry presents NYC architect and artist Benjamin Marcus who will speak about a unique megillah that he illuminated. Benjamin was commissioned to decorate an original Megillah Esther scroll purchased from a scribe in Jerusalem. He then spent a year extensively preparing for this project. He studied and researched the Purim story, and its scholarly and artistic interpretations. Benjamin then sketched and planned before committing his designs to the klaf (parchment). Join us on Zoom to see this beautiful and creative megillah, and to hear from Benjamin about his journey and the extensive research he undertook. Q&A will follow the presentation. This free event is co-sponsored by Sisterhood and the Adult Ed/ Cultural Affairs committees. RSVP to Sisterhood@g-h-c.org to receive Zoom link.
