PASSOVER THEN AND NOW: WHAT DOES THE SEDER MEAN TO US TODAY?

Tuesday, 3/16 and Wednesday, 3/24

@ 7:30 PM

Instructor: Neil Schluger. Passover touches on many important ideas in Jewish life, among them hope, freedom, oppression, suffering, peoplehood, chosen-ness, other-ness, history and Jewish continuity. Many modern thinkers, writers and poets have reflected on these themes. Alongside the traditional text of the Haggadah, we’ll study the thoughts and work of people like David Hartman, Jonathan Sacks, Natan Alterman, Yehuda Amichai, Tuvia Ruebner, Shai Held and others as they comment on the important ideas that Passover represents.
