Celebrate Yom HaAtzmaut with Hebrew Congregation of Somers!
Friday May 6th
6:30pm – Multigenerational Shabbat Service
We’ll welcome Shabbat and celebrate Israel with song and dance. Our family-friendly prayer service will be co-led by our K-4 Hebrew School students.
7:15pm – Special guest speaker, HCS Rabbi Emeritus Fred Schwalb presents “How do you Practice Tikkun Olam When They’re Trying to Kill You?”
This stimulating discussion will touch on the history of Israel, how it practices tikkun olam while in a permanent state of warfare, and how American Jews can relate to all of this.
